Dear President Barack Obama/The First
Lady/Mrs. Michelle Obama /The Senator/Congressman/to whom it may
concern _(name)_
I am writing you in regard to a (classmate /
friend…. ) of mine: Sadeepa Munasinghe
Who has a rare disease (Wilson’s disease), is
severely disabled, being cared for by her brother (who has severe
working limitations and no permanent visa and the current visa is
running out soon), and whose parents (currently in Sri Lanka) have
been trying to get back to their children since July, 2008… but have
been denied visas and entrance to the U.S.A. by the US Embassy in
Sri Lanka.
As an American citizen (or however it
represents you in the US) I have valued ________(state what
you love best about America – and/or about Sadeepa herself and or
her family). As I came to learn about Sadeepa’s rare disease,
the fact that only here (one of very few institutions who has
treatment and specialist all around the world and NO treatment in
her birth country Sri Lanka) can she properly be cared for, the fact
that her parent’s have been denied visas to return to the USA to
assist her, and that her brother is left to provide for her – and in
fact, his permission to work is soon expiring, I felt (state what
you felt or believe).
Sadeepa is (state what qualities you admire
about her/her family – and/or how she/her family is an asset to our
country – according to your beliefs). I am therefore, writing
you as my United States Senator/President/First Lady /
Representative/to whom it may concern asking you to simply make
the one call or write the one letter that can re-unite Sadeepa’s
parents.
Please support
a private member bill (or any other way
possible) to grant Sadeepa, her brother and her
parents permanent status in the US which will
allow them to fight this crippling disease as a
re-united family. I am in full support of
granting this family permanent status in the US
and vote for bringing this private bill in to
law.
